Chisom's work spans the arts and cultural sector, where he has had the opportunity to tell stories that intersect with identity and has worked with some of the world's leading media houses, producing both timely and evergreen work.

A 2025 Lambda Literary Fellow in Nonfiction, a 2022 Africa No Filter Kekere Storyteller recipient and 2022 TFAA nominee for the prize of journalism, his work involves curating art exhibitions, researching and archiving to document and preserve stories of people, specifically from marginalised communities.

Currently working as a Curator-Researcher, Chisom's practice explores the intersection of art and identity through the lens of marginalised individuals, specifically those of African descent. He examines how much the fight for human rights broadly intersects with the contemporary.

He was previously the managing editor at StatementAfrica, where he led the launch of the editorial vertical and led editorial projects across the continent, staying on the pulse of African culture & its creators, increasing readership and user engagement.

Chisom is also a story consultant who has done work with Amazon's Wondery Media, where he carried out research and provided expert insights and opinions on Wondery's original stories, with the vertical he worked on winning The Ambies.

With an interest in Film/TV, he has interviewed stars, from South Africa's Buntu Petse to Hollywood's Jada Pinkett Smith. He also started CineChat, a space for actors and filmmakers to talk about their work where he has also spoken to Ini Edo, Lupita Nyong'o, and more.

In the five years since Chisom's journalistic and research career began, he has written for The New York Times, The Washington Post, Al Jazeera, Teen Vogue, WIRED, and more. He has done work across audio, video, and print.
